LOYALTY.

In The floating book Rudy shows Liesel that he’s loyal. On a really cold day Rudy and Liesel were walking home. “Liesel, as was her habit these days, was carrying The Whistler” (Zusak 300) While they were walking Liesel saw 2 Hitler youth leaders and pointed at them. They cut around a church trying to avoid trouble but when they got around they saw Viktor Chemmel and his friend smoking and crossing over the bridge. And Rudy new for a fact that there was more trouble coming his way. “Well, well, well, if it isn’t Rudy trainer and his little whore” Viktor said while he snatched the book out of Liesel hand”(Zusak 301) Rudy was trying to ask for the book back but Viktor only spoke to Liesel. Rudy begged Viktor to give the book back but Viktor was to mean and threw the book in the River. But Rudy went in and grabbed the book and asked Liesel for a kiss but was denied. The whistler was a very important book to Liesel, because she hadn’t finished it yet. Rudy knew how much Liesel cared for the book and he didn’t all he could to save it for her. I think what he did was really nice and I can tell that Liesel and Rudy are actually realizing how much they cared about each other and their friendship is growing stronger the more they hang out and get to know each other better.
I have shown loyalty to a lot of people. For example I have my best friend Lexi, and one day some girl stole her gold neckles and I want to that girl’s house and snatched if from her. I got in a lot of trouble for going to her house and screaming but I wanted to show her that I’m a good friend. I also think that loyalty is the #1 thing of having a good friendship.

Max's life story.

When Max started living in Hans and Rosa Hubermans house, he had to be kept in the basement because of the Nazi’s. While he stayed in the basement he started writing a story about his life. He didn’t know how it was going to end but he started writing and it turned out to be a completely different story. Max first has to get paper to write his story on. He took paper from the Mein Komp book, and painted over them with white paint. Max wanted to keep the story from Liesel because he didn’t want her to get frightened with what he was drawing of writing about but Liesel ended up finding the book anyway, and just like Max thought she did get very scared. The picture she got more scared of was when Max was standing on top of a pile of dead people thinking about what a lovely day it was. ”frightend by what she saw, Liesel placed the book back down exactly where she found it, against Max’s leg.”(Zusak 281) Max thanked Liesel for putting the book back and when he talked Liesel got scared “Holy Christ” Liesel gasped “you scared me Max” (Zusak 281)
My like story is not really interesting but my biggest fear is driving because when I was 8 years old I and my mom got into a really bad accident and it was a scary experience. But the only way to get over my fear is by trying it and hoping for the best.

The stand over man.

Max and Leisel have many things in common, even though Max is older then her. They both lost one of their parents when they were young. Max was 4 when he lost him father and Leisel was 10 when she lost her mother. They both don't have any family left except the Huberman. Both Max and Leisel have lived very depressing life's but they have stayed strong enough to meet each other. Max's life has been way harder since hes a Jew. He spent most of his life in the ghettos. Max has spent the last two years hiding in a factory hopping he doesn't get killed. Max and Leisel become friends threw their love of word and books. Max moving in with them gave Leisel encouragement to bring news from the outside in to the inside to Max. Leisel delights herself by bringing Max news paper, unfinished crosswords, and things for him to get entertained with. Leisel's birthday was coming up and they didn't have nothing to give her. So Max gave her a book called The Stand Over Man."During that week max had cut a collection of pages from Mein Kamp and painted them over in white. He then Hung them up with pegs on some string from one end of the basement to the other" (Zusak, 223) The book describes Max's hardships and the relationship to the girl who turned his life around. "Now I think we are friends, this girl and me. on her birthday it was she who gave a gift to me. It makes me understand that the best stand over man I've known is not a man at all" (Zusak, 235)
